Wood sculpture located under the cantilevered corner of an office building in the Allegheny Commons park, at Four Allegheny Center.

No label of plaque or sign is present in the general area of where the sculpture lies.

In an interactive map that is made by Allegheny Commons non-profit organization that promotes the use of the park, visible at (visit link) features several public art objects, but not this one.

From the brochure on public art by the Pittsburgh Arts Council:

"Discobolus was made for the 1994 Three Rivers
Arts Festival. The work plays with the relationship
of positive and negative space. The Festival’s
exhibition catalogue explains that “the series is
about conversation and interaction between two
or more beings.” If you focus on the negative space
between the two wooden forms, you see the discus
thrower Discobolus, a symbol of strength, hope,
and determination."
Title: Discobolus

Artist: Marina Warren Nash

Media (materials) used: wood

Location (specific park, transit center, library, etc.): office corner
