In Cambridge, in the Kendall Square section of the city, is a complex of buildings that includes the Marriott Hotel, the food court, MIT Coop, and the parking garage. The whole area outside is covered in red brick, lined with stone or cement. Though it is a nice area to sit, and possibly watch a local singer, it has an urban harshness to it. Wouldn't you like to, instead, to a place that is away from the noise and traffic, full of green and flowers, and even providing a view?

Well, if you walk southwest through the food court from the brick court, you come to another brick area bounded by another, squarish building, part of the Cambridge Place office buildings. From here, turn right into the parking garage entrance, which is also rather uninspired concrete forms. But, take the stairs up the hole to the top - or take the elevator to the top - and walk through the glass doors to a sort of 'secret garden,' where lush green grass and brightly colored flowers greet you. Pathways criss-cross the area. There are places where you can view the buildings and roads around the garden, or sit somewhere. Not many people are in the garden, even at lunch time, so seating is usually available.

When you have had your fill, walk down the stairs/ride the elevator to be 'transported' back to the city.
