Another location where the British forces pounded on the retreating American raiders. This caused the American to abandon yet another location and fall back further toward their own country.

Commemorating another great day in Canadian history is this plaque related to a battle during the War of 1812. Ships from the British Navy launched an attack on the already weakened American troops which were retreating from a major loss at Stoney Creek. The British were soon joined by Indians and two regiments of the Lincoln Militia which further showed the Americans they were outnumbered and forced them back closer to the Niagara River.

In the future this location would house the Elizabeth St pumping station which transported water from Lake Ontario up to a large reservoir on the Escarpment. Today it is a hall available for booking and there is a nice park area as well.
