This memorial is located in an area east of the 45th Infantry Division Museum located just east of Martin Luther King Blvd. on N.E. 36th Street. There are monuments to honor several units who fought for their country, as well as displays of aircraft, artillery and military ground equipment.
This monument honoring Company L, 179th Infantry Regiment is made of gray granite.
The front reads:
"179
L
1950 Korea 1953
In honor of those who served"
The back reads:
"Remember
Freedom is not free
Company L 179th Infantry"
It lists the names of those from Company L who gave their lives in Korea.
On the front of the monument are:
** Cross rifles
** An Indian shield with the words "In omnia paratus" which means 'Prepared for all things.'
** The Thunderbird emblem of the 45th Infantry Division
** A rifle with wreath
