Blackwell is located in Kay County, Oklahoma, the population is about 7,688 and the city is about 5 and half miles square.
Blackwell was established on September 16, 1893 following the Cherokee Outlet Run and was named after A.J. Blackwell.
On May 25, 1955 a deadly F5 tornado went through Blackwell killing 20 and injuring 250.
Attractions are the 5 parks Riverside, Bagby, Rogers, Memorail and Legion Park, and the Top of Oklahoma Museum which will keep you busy for hours looking at all the history of Blackwell.
The hospital is a 53 bed facility, with 24 hour emergency with a Helicopter-pad.
