This plaque is located on the tombstone of the parents of LCdr. Donald Richard Walk. The plaque commemorates the naming of the Walk Glacier on the continent of Antarctica.

Lt. Commander Donald R. Walk was the officer in charge and chief medial officer at the Byrd Station in the 1960's. The glacier, located in the Jones Mountains, Antarctica, was named by the United State Advisory Committee of Antarctica Names (US ACAN) and the U.S. Board of Geographic Names.
