This is simply known as he Public Boat ramp, and is located in the Red Bank section of West Deptford Township. Hours are not posted, but it is assumed, like most public facilities in the township, that they are "dawn to dusk".
A $15 cash fee is charged ONLY if you choose to park your vehicle and trailer in an adjacent lot. There is no fee if you launch your vessel and then leave. Be warned, however, the surrounding neighborhood is very clearly marked that there is no boat trailer parking on the streets, and you will be towed with a hefty fine if you choose not to listen!
If you choose to use this new and very well maintained ramp, you will launch directly into the Delaware River, across from the old Philadelphia Naval Yard, at Girard Point (note the double decker I-95 Girard Point bridge in the background). Signs posted warn of the swift currents in the river at this point, as well as the tidal nature of the river here. From this point, you can sail north toward nearby Penn's Landing and the Camden Waterfront or you can head south past the Walt Whitman Bridge and Sports Complex to Chester and Wilmington.
