McKinnon village once stood here, and this bridge used to be the main road. On either side of the bridge, the road is now barely recognizable - mostly overgrown with swampy vegetation (including Giant Hogweed and Wild Parsnip so be careful).
The village was abandoned due to repeated spring floods.
The bridge is used in the winter for a snowmobile trail, and it is a hiking trail in the summer. The area is now managed by the Nottawasaga Conservation Authority.
