This Ford Tri-Motor plane was built by Ford in 1928 in Dearborn, Michigan and delivered to Pan American Airways in 1929. It was used in the Caribbean and Mexico until it returned to the USA in 1966. In 1976, it was purchased as a tourist plane over the Grand Canyon. In 1981, it was severely damaged while parked in Las Vegas and donated to this Museum in 1982. It was restored and put on display in 1999.
