This Pony Express station was built in 1854 near Ft. McPherson (20 miles away) as a trading post and ranch house. It served as a Pony Express station 1860 to 1861.
Because of its key location, it became an Overland Trail Stage station, bunk house, and storage house after its career as a Pony Express station.
In 1931, it was moved and restored in Ehman Park in Gothenburg, NE.
The museum which contains Native American artifacts and other artifacts and information from the period has been open to the public since 1954.
