The Town was reincorporated on January 1, 1999 for the purpose of combining the former Townships of Gosfield North, Gosfield South and Town of Kingsville and provides a unique blend of picturesque small urban centers to live in such as, the Village of Cottam and Hamlet of Ruthven in addition to the former Town of Kingsville.
