This town was established in the mid 1800s. The town comprised of 5 homesteads and a mill. There is a large metal bridge on the abandoned McKinnon Road which is the most noticeable sign of settlement that is left.
The townsite was destroyed by regular floods of the Nottawasaga River - a river which can easily climb two to three metres in height in the spring.
Recommended approach is via canoe on the river, as the road is often unpassable - even to hikers, and is covered with Giant Hogweed plants.
Reason for Abandonment: Natural Disaster
Date Abandoned: 01/01/1900
