This marker has several strange properties. First, in has no explanation of who placed it. Second, it seems to have been there for a long time, judging by its condition. Now, the plaque's text:
"The Battle of Bunker Hill
17 June 1775
This tablet marks the general
position of Moulton's Point where
the British troops landed and
formed for the first assault."
The third thing relates to that - the tablet does not mark a specific site, but a general area where Moulton's Point might be. Research online indicates that the specific site of Moulton's Point is not known.

Visit Instructions:
When logging a Massachusetts Historic Marker, we ask that you not only describe your visit, but to upload a picture from it. The picture does not have to be of the marker - one picture of the marker is enough. But a photo of you standing next to the marker or a photograph the subject of the marker - those are examples of possible photographs to upload.
