The gazebo was erected in 1896 by Sir Walter Gilbey of Elsenham Hall in memory of his wife. The gazebo originally housed the village pump.

The structure is open on four sides with a half height brick wall between openings. Above the brick wall there are oak columns and oak arches over the openings. Above the wall structure is a domed copper roof with ball finial.
