The monument, dedicated June 4, 1905, is a multi-tiered stone monument with a bronze angel on top and a bronze statue of a Confederate uniformed soldier standing to the front. The angel standing on a sphere is wearing a long robe, her wings are outspread, in her raised right hand she is holding a wreath and in her left hand she is holding a trumpet. The Confederate soldier is holding a flag in both hands, the pole for the flag is broken. On the back of the monument is a bronze medallion with the Confederate seal. The monument is inscribed:
