Saint Andrews Catholic Cathedral was built beginning in 1878 and dedicated November 27, 1881. The Cathedral constructed of Arkansas granite-like syenite which was quarried in the Little Rock area. The cathedral was designed by architect Thomas Harding in a English Gothic Revival style and features an octagonal steeple and beautiful stained glass windows. The building is replaced and earlier frame structure built in 1845 which served as the Diocese founded in 1843. The building is well maintained and continues to serve the Diocese as its cathedral.
