The painting is of Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon II, posing in front of "Miss Veedol", the Bellanca "Skyrocket" they flew to make the first non-stop Trans-Pacific flight in 1931.
The mural is located above the doors of the hanger, with a blue background. The red Miss Veedol is centered in the blue field, with Pangborn and Herndon in front. Under their feet are their names in red, and to the right, it says in red letters, "First non-stop Trans-Pacific Flight October 5, 1931".
This hanger is just off the road, in full view, and it is a former hanger for Fancher Field. It was bought by Greg Howland about 6 years ago, from a private owner who painted the mural on the front.
