According to the plaque located at the bottom of the steps . . . The Lakeside Park Bandshell dates back to about 1908. It was originally located at Trafalgar Park (Then known as Oakville Fair Grounds).

This bandshell was moved to Lakeside Park in the early 1950’s. It was moved to its present location and rebuilt by the town in 1981.

The plaque states that the bandshell was dedicated on July 3, 1982 as part of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the town of Oakville.
