The Chesapeake Boathouse is shaped like a boat! The aerial view is the best way to see this unique building that is located in Regatta Park. Other Boathouses are in the process of being built nearby, and the Devon Boathouse was just completed. There is also an Olympic Rowing Training Center that is being planned for the area.
The boathouse is a really nice facility on the Oklahoma River, and a great asset to the rowing community. It is home to some really phenomenal regattas, bringing people from all over the world to OKC's Bricktown district. The boathouse has a fitness center, rents bicycles for use on the great trails that run along the river, and rents out kayaks also. There is a reflecting pool on the south side of the building, between the boathouse and the dock.
Several local colleges store boats here and practice on the river. In addition, the facility offers Dragon Boating for corporations, scout and school groups, or any large group seeking the thrill of the sport. During the summer months kids can attend camps and learn how to kayak, row, and enjoy lots of water games.
The Boathouse is a popular place to hold corporate events, weddings, or any kind of celebration. There is a large meeting/event room inside, but some events are held outside on the beautiful grounds.
