Station Sliedrecht Sliedrecht Station is located on the Merwede-Line , part of the Betuwelijn. Trains from Geldermalsen Dordrecht consists of just one track, Sliedrecht has however two tracks since the two trains in both directions pass each other here.
The old station was opened on July 16, 1885. In 1985 a new, smaller stations opened in cubist style. This is because the operation of the old building was too expensive because of the size and distance from the center. The old building is preserved, there is a restaurant located called Lords of Slydregt. Meanwhile, the new building no longer in use.
Also to the needs of residents on the west side of Sliedrecht and the east side of Papendrecht is currently providing a other station "Sliedrecht Baanhoek". This station is lie between the stations Sliedrecht and Dordrecht Stadspolders and is expected to open in 2011.
