The mounting for the plaque is there, however the plaque itself is long gone. According to one website (The Arizona Community Tree Council Inc), this tree is a cork oak and is believed to have been one of the seedlings handed out by the US government at the end of World War I to combat a shortage of cork in the US. At this time, the tree is about 88 years old. The first entry on the posted website explains this tree.
