The Goodwin House was the home of New Hampshire's Governor during the Civil War. The home was relocated to this Museum in order to preserve it. The Governor's wife, Sarah Goodwin, developed several different gardens at the home...one being a fairy garden...with it's own fairy home made of shells. There is a quote from Sarah Goodwin on the accompanying plaque that reads:
"Every spot of habitable earth...[was] formed by fairy fingers. What a curious busy world it was & how active & earnest the workers."
