This location will one day be the new hospital providing medical services for the entire Niagara Region. It will replace medical facilities across the region. This project has been years in the planning and local debates about the location.

Like all major projects, the new hospital has been the source of much controversy ranging from the location as well as the closures of other medical facilities and the possibility of delays in reaching medical attention compared to having several smaller locations. However this new facility will bring updated equipment and improvements to the aged facilities currently available. Questions about traffic and city expansion also loom ahead for the project that has already been delayed for years.
