The Zoo also boasts the largest walk-through aviary in Australasia. The aviary is home to some of NZ’s most endangered birds including the Kokako.
Hamilton Zoo’s focus on conservation has seen the births of four of only six white rhinos born in NZ. Landscaped with NZ native plants and home to many endangered species, Hamilton Zoo offers beautiful garden settings, paved pathways and boardwalks. It is the ideal destination for a relaxing, recreational visit, with guided tours and behind-the-scenes animal encounters by arrangement.
