WINDMILLS
Windmills have been used for centuries to pump
water and grind grain. Windmills are designed with
many blades so that they begin rotating and pumping
water in very low winds. This Aermotor windmill
has been produced since the 1930's and the basic
design hasn't changed.
Today, applications of this technology include
irrigation for agriculture and golf courses, and low
yeald wells. This windmill pumps water from the water
table 30 metres below to create a small pond for
wildlife.
