An unusual burial site just below the rim of the Grand Canyon. This was a special circumstance and the deceased were well liked and respected residents of the Grand Canyon Village.

Charles Brant was one of the early managers of the El Tovar Hotel, and he and his wife requested that when they died they wanted to be buried where they could see the El Tovar Hotel from their final resting spot. Their beloved dog Razzle Dazzle outlived them, and when he passed away he was buried along side his owners Charles and Olga.

The burial site and monument is tricky to find. Fortunately for the rest of you, I am giving you coordinates and clear directions to find it. From the Hermit's Rest Exchange shuttle stop (where the Red line and Blue lines meet), go down a few steps onto the rim trail. After about a 6 minute walk you will see the worship site on your right. Continue on the trail about 2 minutes, and to your left, half-way up the very steep section of trail, you will see a faint trail on your left. Take this trail, hooking back in the direction you came, and look for the monument.

The is a large vertical memorial made of stone, with the burials of Charles and Olga in front of it. Razzle Dazzle's grave is to the far back left of the site. All three graves are enclosed by a large rock wall.

There is little chance of stumbling across this site. It is well hidden behind the trees and rocks just below the south rim. Without coordinates or someone telling you how to find it, it would be difficult to find.

If you come to this site on a Wednesday or Sunday please be respectful of any worship services going on at the time. You will be walking right past the worship site on the way to the graves.
