FERRY

Before Roads and Railways were built the main means of transportation was the Fraser River. Very early in the history of Port Kells and Surrey ferries were the means of transporting people and goods to market in New Westminster. Port Kells possessed a wharf at the foot of 192nd Street where the ferry used to stop.
