Reid Park Zoo has several Bronzes for the Blind sculptures that are designed to assist visually impaired visitors learn about the animals. Each one is about 18 inches wide, and most up to a foot tall, and is accompanied by an information plaque that includes a braille description of the animal. Each sculpture is located next to the habitat of the zoo animal it represents.
The Bengal Tiger sculpture is of a tiger lying down on a rock. His front part is higher up since his front legs are on top of the rock.

Description:

A Bengal tiger is lying down on a rock with its front paws outstretched. The front paws are upward on the rock so that the tiger's front half of his body is higher than the back. The proper left back leg is over the proper right back leg. The tail curves backward. The sculpture is atop a rectangular base with a tapered upper front.

Inscription:

Mark Rossi (On plaque on upper front of base, in English and in Braille:) Bengal Tiger Lying Down signed

Remarks:

The sculpture is part of the Bronzes for the Blind, a project developed by the zoo to offer the blind tactile images of the zoo animals. Each sculpture is placed at hand-level where it can be touched. The project is an ongoing collaboration between the zoo and the artist.
