As with many memorials, this one shares space with a Vietnam memorial. The Korean memorial is on the left side. This memorial and a few others are located in Franklin S. Roosevelt Park.

This memorial is located just of of Rt 30 East. The area was recently cleaned up is currently undergoing rehab so do not visit at night! It is not safe. In the front of the memorial, there is a WW I monument and a WW II monument, both spectacular. The dedicated portion of the memorial reads:

In Honor and Memory of the Veterans of Egg Harbor City Who Served and Died in the Name of Freedom. Beneath this is a list of 125 names, 110 or so of those who served and the rest who died in action. The memorial was donated by the Egg Harbor City Kiwanis Club.

The memorial is located in a circle with the other memorials and some canons. It is the centerpiece of this park. As you drive by it is very noticeable. This park is perfectly rectangular and takes up exactly one block. Four intersecting roads at its four corners make up its boundaries. Once beautiful, not downtrodden, dirty and dangerous to visit at night.

When I visited I found empty bags used for narcotics, a few needles, cigarette butts, empty liquor bottles and garbage strewn all over. I thought this was a shame as the park used to be a jewel for this area. At one time there was water here, and beach and people used to bathe in the 30s. Today, the park has its own attractions but they seem to go unnoticed. In the park are several beautiful war memorials, a gazebo, a nice town clock, benches and a rail station which appeared clean and relatively safe. I observed no playgrounds in this park.

I found a really neat description of this place in the American Guide Series. It reads:

North from US 30 (see Tour 23) at Egg Harbor City, 0 m. (63 alt., 3,478 pop.) (see Tour 23), on Green Bank Rd., a macadamized highway, to Franklin D. Roosevelt Park, 3 m. (athletic fields, playgrounds, bathing beach). Much of the work on the 500-acre municipally owned park has been done by the WPA. --- New Jersey: A Guide to Its Present and Past, 1939; page 602

I noticed the border used to be Green Bank Road but today it is Cincinnati which means the park at one time expanded out 3 blocks instead of one and Cincinnati Road did not exist back then. Curiously, there is no mention of these memorials and the WW I is older than the narrative. I think all the memorials including this Korean War memorial were moved from another location.
