This unique sculpture is in the courtyard of the Meyer Agron Student Center, just north of the Memorial Student Union. The sculpture is in a courtyard/garden area that can only be accessed through the interior of the student center, but it is easily visible from the sidewalk. It is about 6 ft. tall, and looks like almost like a carved tiki God to me. The sign on the wall behind the sculpture says "Holocaust Memorial".

From the Smithsonian Art database:

Dimensions:
Approx. H. 6 ft. 5 in. x Diam. 2 ft.

Inscription:
(Back, lower left of sculpture:) Edmund Bier, 1984 (Back, lower left of sculpture:) Desert Crucible/Pima Art Foundry Tucson Arizona signed Founder's mark appears.

Remarks:

The sculpture was a gift to the students from the artist. It is meant "to symbolize how the Jews have been tossed about like driftwood for most of their history." IAS files contain transcription on adjacent plaque and newspaper clipping from Arizona Daily Star dated April 25, 1985, pg.1.
