What a mixture of environments! This playground is a study in contradictions - nestled along the Charles River Reservation (a park stretching along the Charles River), this playground is bordered by the quiet river and a bustling highway! No need to worry about the kids' safety, however, as the park is well-fenced, with only one entrance to worry about.
This playground has swingsets (both for toddlers and older children) and two playsets, each with multiple slides and ample climbing room. This park is somewhat difficult to get to, but there is a pedestrian bridge over Storrow Drive nearby to get you over that busy road. There is no public parking nearby, really, but the Green Line of the T stops close at Science Park. If you're off at the Museum of Science and the kids just want to get some energy out of their system, consider stopping by here, as it is just a couple of minutes' walk away.
