This memorial is dedicated to Michael D. Weaver, born and raised in Blackwell who was killed in the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. He served his country as Attorney for the Department of housing and Urban Developement and his community as an avid coach of youth sports in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mike will be always remembered by friends and family for his kind spirit, dry wit and ready laughter. A 1968 graduate of BHS, Mike was the son of Don and Peggy Weaver also natives of Blackwell. The Weaver family were pioneers of the oil industry and community leaders in youth sports in Blackwell. The Weaver family wishes to express thanks to the VFW Auxillary for this fitting memorial in Mike's memory in his hometown.
Location: Monument is located on the Top of Oklahoma Museums grounds, on South Main Street in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
