A polished stone, four conifers and a blue plaque contribute to this small memorial area. The stone and plaque read as follows:
'In Proud Memory of those Police Officers and Civilian Staff of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force and Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force who gave their lives in war or in the execution of their duties in peacetime 1844 - 1997.'
Hong Kong Island became British in 1844 after the Opium War. The Police Force originally consisted of European, Indian and Chinese. Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997.
