The Peyrots created this elegant sundial on the church in Ribeyret in 1996. Ribeyret is a hamlet in Pays de Buech, Hautes Alpes, west of Serres.

Evelyne and Norbert Peyrot have created and restored many fine sundials in the Hautes Alpes. This is beautifully elegant sundial on the local church in the square in Ribeyret. There is not much else in this hamlet, a few miles west of where we were staying in L'Epine.
The dial featurs a quail, subdued colours and an accurate sundial. The motto in Provencal is "Pren lo daise e fai te vieilh". The best I can guess at as a translation is "Think of the days passing as you get older". Yes I do. Carpe Diem!
