Situated north of the castle in Castle Park, this octagonal bandstand is used throughout the summer for band and other musical concerts, see 2010 programme in the gallery of pictures.
It is built of cast iron and on a concrete base, there is one set of four steps to the platform with cast iron rails. Each side of the platform has a cast iron railing with a gold plated top rail, the rest painted dark blue. The roof is sheet metal with a ventilation break below a ponted finial, fancy scroll work supports the roof on the ornamental cast uprights. Built by W.MacFarlane & Co. of Glasgow it is in excellent condition.
