 Description of Memorial: Akeley is a small town in the lakes country of Minnesota, lots of lakes and lots of tourists. Near this spot is a giant statue of Paul Bunyan, as Akeley lays claim to being "The Birthplace of Paul Bunyan". Local museum nearby as well as a park, restrooms, and the downtown Akeley area.
