In Boston, in the Beacon Hill nieghborhood, is the Church of the Advent in Boston, a red brick church in the middle of a residential district. The church is at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Brimmer Streets, The church has a tower and steeple that contains eight bells that are played in English Change Ringing style.

The bells were cast in the key of E for the church in 1900 and were dedicated on October 7, 1900. The lightest bell was 666 pounds and the heaviest was more than 2,100 pounds. They were rung every week in a style known as Engling Change Ringing, which is a type of rhythmic ringing where the patterns of sounds change subtly as each bell ringer stands in a circle with the others. Unfortunately, after two or three years they were silenced after receiving complaints from the neighborhood. They stood silent for over 70 years before the bells were rediscovered in 1972 and restored and reinstalled in the tower. They have been ringing ever since.

An added note is that in 1974, they were invited to play the bells during the playing of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" by the Boston Pops at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. That tradition has been continued every year since.

So, if you happened to be there during that concert, listen for the Church of the Advent bells toward the end of the song!
