The current Nisutlin Bay Bridge, built in 1956, is the third bridge to span the bay since the original construction of the highway. It is two lanes wide and consists of seven metal through truss spans set on concrete piers. The roadway is composed of large opening, metal grating. Because of this, cars and motorcycles should use caution when crossing.
