At the northwest corner of Court St and Congress St, across Court St from the Old State House, in the plaza outside of the Citizens Bank, is this plaque, on the eastward-facing side of a planter. It is best reached on the T by going to the State station and crossing the street.
The plaque states: "On July 11, 1976, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip of Great Britain passed this way to attend a ceremony commemorating the bicentennial of the United States of America. This marked the first visit of a reigning British monarch to Boston.

Visit Instructions:
When logging a Massachusetts Historic Marker, we ask that you not only describe your visit, but to upload a picture from it. The picture does not have to be of the marker - one picture of the marker is enough. But a photo of you standing next to the marker or a photograph the subject of the marker - those are examples of possible photographs to upload.
