Marker and tombstone of Benjamin Lawrence, Revolutionary War Hero. In 1799 he removed with his family to 377 acres purchased in Jefferson co., Ky., near Louisville; and on his plantation, Eden, built the first stone house in the county.
Benjamin Lawrence & his wife Urath Owings are buried side by side in the family graveyard at Eden; the places marked by large flat slabs, bearing names and dates only.
