"The Bank of Italy building is a three story commercial building with classical detailing constructed in 1928. Merced’s Bank of Italy was listed at the local level under Criterion C in the area of architecture as a good representative example of early 20th century commercial architecture in Merced. The building is a good representative example of a small town bank building whose Classical imagery was commonly used to evoke stability, security, tradition." (visit link)
