The gargantuan field is to the rear of the Croft Farmstead, the jewel of this preserved NRHP site along the banks of the Cooper River. The field has three separate trailheads, although one would never know except by accident. I discovered this trail just by looking around; kind of a nature's version of Where's Waldo. Another trailhead is located about 700 feet away to the west. All the trails are marked by the same familiar rectangular, metal sign which marks attributes as well as those things which are not permissible on the trail such as bikes or other motorized vehicles.

Plenty of parking is available. While approaching the house, pull over to the left into the big dirt parking lot and walk to the center of the field and 100 feet before the forest, make a left. Walk straight to the tree line until you stumble onto this obscure trailhead.
