The Portage Lift Bridge in Houghton MI was built in 1959. The lower level the lift was used for trains and the upper level is still used for cars. The railroads haven't used the bridge since the 70's. The rails have been removed and the rail part is used for snow mobiles to cross in the winter. Near this waymark are 2 railroad depots.
