Lewis & Clark Memorial Park
By a few degrees, Long Beach is the most western point reached by the Lewis & Clark expedition. Captain Clark wrote the following journal entry on November 19, 1805:

"Proceeded on a small sandy coast 4 miles and marked my name on a small pine. The day of the month and year…"

This monument was made possible by the combined efforts of the City of Long Beach, The Lewis & Clark Trail Committee, and Washington State Parks.

Dedicated November 19, 1990
Mayor Red H. Rutherford
City Council: Gary Lueth, Ken Ramsey & Roy Star
Stanley Wanlass, Sculptor
David Jensen, Architect
Ken Heckard, Lewis & Clark Trail Committee
"Must Sees"at this location":
The statue is quite impressive, but the egraved stones around the circumfrence of the plaza are the most educational.
