This Red Pine marked on June 17, 1850 during the original land survey of Michigan. The tree diameter was eight inches at that time.
The surveyor was William Burt. Burt Lake near Indian River was named after his father W. A. Burt.
Mark identifies quarter section corner between section 15 & 16 township 32 north, range 1 west.
