In the commune of Lazer there are a couple of modern sundials by Rémi Potey created in 1995, This is the sundial on the community hall (Salle Amie Long) at the town hall (Marie) in the old (1910) school.

On the community hall, "Salle Amie Long", the old timers centre, is an attractive sundial painting by Rémi Potey in 1995. It shows a rural scene in the area.
When in France explore the little roads, like D942b, the backroad to Gap. On these roads you will find the heart of the country. Sundials have taken us there. Here at Lazer we saw how the old school, replaced by regional schools was put to use as a town office and community hall. In a limited way, the sundial tells the history. Lazer remains as an incorporated commune but the agricultural community is dispersed. Services are provided in the nearby town, Larange-Montéglin. All that remains is the community hall in the shell of the old school. Life goes on. We saw several pallets with cases of wine being unloaded here, thousands of bottles of wine. The old timers "amie long" know what is important for a community hall.
