PT: A Ponte Eiffel é da autoria da casa Gustave Eiffel, atravessa o rio Lima perto da foz ligando a cidade de Viana do Castelo, da freguesia de Santa Maria Maior a Darque, no sítio do Cais Novo.
É uma ponte rodo-ferroviária inaugurada em 30 de Junho de 1878 por Fontes Pereira de Melo, Que veio substituir a velha e perigosa ponte de madeira. Esta via permitiu a chegada do Caminho-de-ferro até à Cidade, visto que o Comboio apenas chegava até à estação de Darque. Mais tarde concluiu-se a Linha do Minho, até à vila alto-minhota de Monção, trazendo consigo algum progresso à região.
A ponte metálica, símbolo da Arquitectura do Ferro, tem o comprimento de 562 metros, em dois pisos, um ferroviário e o superior rodoviário, de salientar o espírito visionário do engenheiro Eiffel criando uma estrutura que mais de cem anos depois se mantém com uma das principais vias de comunicação à cidade.

The Eiffel Bridge is the work of Gustave Eiffel , crosses the Lima River near the mouth in the city of Viana do Castelo.
It is a road-rail bridge opened on June 30, 1878 by Fontes Pereira de Melo, which replaces the old and dangerous wooden bridge. This allowed the arrival of the railways up to the City, as the train just came to the station Darque.
The metal bridge, symbol of the Iron Architecture, has a length of 562 meters in two floors, a rail and road, to emphasize the visionary spirit of the engineer Eiffel creating a structure that more than one hundred years later it has with a major communication routes to the city.
