Holker Hall's west wing burned down in 1871. These chimneys look Elizabethan but are Victorian.

After this wing burned down in 1871, replacing the stone fireplaces proved difficult to source grand enough surrounds. The chimney pots appear to be less of a problem.
Holker Hall is the home of the Cavendish family, who open the west wing to the public. The hall is in the southern peninsular near the village of Cark.
The roof line of the hall can be seen from outside the formal gardens without paying the entrance fee.
Free parking. Courtyard cafe.
