Wikipedia describes this wall:
'Historically, the village is famous as the birthplace of the missionary William Carey (1761). The cottage of his birth is no longer there, but is marked by a stone memorial on Carey's Road, named after him.'

The plaque reads:
'Wm Carey D.D.
Born Aug 17. 1761
Died June 9. 1834
1854 R.L.'

Underneath another plaque reads:
'The stones which form this wall were taken from Wm Carey's cottage on its demolition May 1965.'
