Sarpy County, Nebraska celebrated 150 years on February 2, 2007. Their celebration highlighted their community values, historical events, prosperity and the overall collaboration between Sarpy County, Bellevue, Papillion, LaVista, Gretna, Springfield, Offutt Air Force Base, all of their schools and businesses and the fine citizens who reside there.
This public art project called "Sarpy County - Plains to Planes" helped recognize both the history and prosperity that Sarpy County has seen since 1857. "Buffalo and Airplanes" helped capture both the buffalo roaming the open plains of their past while the airplanes depicted the open sky of their present and future.
